Yassin, a long-time windsurfer, has been sailing the seas since childhood. In the middle of Zuerich, stranded on dry ground, he longs for that unique feeling of floating on water. One evening he discovers an article about surfing on a bungee cord and he is sure he must try this too. He quickly organises some elastic ropes and starts knotting them together, not knowing if this would ever work. But as soon as it rains and there is enough water, he goes to the bridge to try it. ..
Believe and Elevate, just Belivate
Martin, who has been working in the entertainment industry for several years, is self-employed and looking for a balance to this stressful life, remembers his first attempts at surfing during his holidays and how much fun it was. He quickly regains that feeling of freedom and starts looking for surfing options in Switzerland. His eyes fell on a clip showing surfers on a bungee rope and he was sure he had to try it out. The bungee rope is quickly ordered and the surfboard rented from the shop. As soon as it rains and there is enough water, he goes to the bridge to test it.
Surfing is freedom in its purest form
They quickly recognised the advantages and disadvantages of the different ropes and it was clear that if they could find the perfect mix between the two bungee ropes, they would certainly be able to surf even faster and further than before. After extensive testing of different materials and various failed attempts, they then found the perfect mix between stretch, traction and durability. The SEPORSURF High Performance Bungee Rope was born.
But that was not enough. They were often asked by passers-by how cool it was. Some jumped straight into the water to try it out. When the two of them saw how much fun and enjoyment they had, the idea of their own surf school, which is mobile and can be used anywhere, was not far away. Since you don't have a perfect flow of water everywhere, and even in the best places the conditions aren't always good, this problem also had to be solved. A winch was needed.
Since they are both very environmentally conscious, they did not simply want a winch that runs on petrol. An electric winch that is light enough to be carried everywhere and still has enough pulling power to pull a surfer out of the water should be the solution. After several weeks of research, the two found an optimal construction and with the help of the inventor of this winch, it was perfectly adjusted for river surfing. Now it was really possible to surf everywhere.
More by chance than anything else, the two learned a short time later from a gifted surfer that there was another system for river surfing. This worked with a sail and rollers and was like the bungee for surfing, but over a length of more than 400 metres. Contact was quickly made and the system could be tested a few days later and yes, it was a new feeling for river surfing. The inventor of the system immediately saw the enthusiasm and vision from the two and joined them straight away. So the SeporFlow system has also found its place at SEPORSURF and we are overjoyed with this expansion.
